TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE NCBCA

you must pay NCBCA yearly dues and must be “actively engaged in coaching basketball in the public schools of the State of North Carolina on the high school (NCHSAA member school) or junior high/middle school level.” In order to be considered “actively engaged in coaching basketball,” a person must meet at least one of the following:

  • Be a bona fide faculty member

  • Work as a basketball coach for the school and be paid for these duties

  • Work as a school-approved non-faculty coach and be paid for these duties

  • Work as a school-approved non-faculty volunteer coach

  • Be a living, retired coach that served in one of the above capacities

  • He/She is currently coaching basketball at a North Carolina college or university.
